Is it a buyer's or seller's market in Victoria, MN right now?

Victoria is still a seller's market, but buyers have more choices than they did a year ago. In August 2026, 35.2% of Victoria homes sold above list price and homes sold for 99.9% of list on average, according to Redfin. Redfin rates Victoria "very competitive." Homes are taking longer to sell, though, so pricing matters more than it did last year.

How long are Victoria homes taking to sell?

Victoria homes sold in a median of 34 days in August 2026, up from 22 days a year earlier, according to Redfin. Across the Twin Cities metro, homes averaged 45 days on market in August, according to Minnesota Realtors. Our listings have sold in a median of 12 days, and we price them to recent sales on the street, not the zip code average.

Are home prices in Victoria going down?

Mostly no. Victoria's median sale price was $621,650 in August 2026, down 9.8% from a year earlier, according to Redfin. A big reason is Huntersbrooke. That neighborhood is now finished, and its new Robert Thomas and Stonegate homes, many selling around $1 million, made up a lot of last year's sales. With fewer of those closing now, the median drops even when prices on existing homes hold steady. Statewide, the median rose 2.8% to $370,000, according to Minnesota Realtors.

Why does it feel like there are more homes for sale?

Because there are. Minnesota had more than 20,000 homes for sale in August 2026, a seven-year high, and about 3.5 months of supply, according to Minnesota Realtors. That's still below the five or six months that usually marks a balanced market, so sellers keep the edge, but buyers can compare more homes before they decide.

What does this mean if I'm selling in Victoria this fall?

Price it right the first time. With more homes on the market, buyers skip listings that look high and wait for them to drop. Fix what an inspector will flag, get the photos right, and list at a price that matches recent sales on your street. Homes priced well still sell above list here, which is what 35% of August sales did. If you're deciding between now and spring, here's the best time to sell a house in Victoria.

What if I'm selling and buying at the same time?

A busier market helps you on the buying side. You have more homes to choose from and a little more room to negotiate, while your Victoria home still sells into steady demand. We line up both closings so you only move once. Our moving up or downsizing page walks through the timing.
